Learn Thai by watching Netflix
Thai series have become one of Netflix's strongest regional exports, giving learners a large and current catalogue. The grammar is a genuine advantage: no conjugation, no plurals, no articles, and no cases. The difficulty sits almost entirely in tones and the script.

How long does it take to learn Thai?
Why learn Thai?
- Thai series have a large and fast-growing international audience on Netflix.
- The grammar is minimal: no verb conjugation, no plurals, no grammatical gender.
- It is the practical language for one of the most visited countries in Asia.
- Very few high-quality learner tools exist, so authentic input matters more than usual.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Thai hard to learn?
- Thai is FSI Category III at 1,012 class hours. The grammar is simpler than most European languages, but five tones and a script with no spaces between words make listening and reading harder than the grammar suggests.
- Can I learn Thai without learning the script?
- You can build useful spoken vocabulary from transliteration and audio alone. Reading Thai script eventually becomes worthwhile because transliteration systems are inconsistent and do not reliably encode tone.
