About LingoBinge

LingoBinge is a Chrome extension that swaps Netflix subtitle words into the language you are learning, so you build real vocabulary from the shows you already watch. It was built by Lachlan McRitchie, a solo founder based in Bali who wanted to learn Indonesian without adding another app to feel guilty about.

Why we built LingoBinge

I wanted to learn Indonesian without adding another app to feel guilty about. The thing that actually worked was watching shows I already loved and picking up words in context. So I built the tool I wished existed: it swaps a few subtitle words at your level while you watch, lets you save them, and brings them back for review. No streaks, no guilt, no second app. The parts that matter most stay free.

Who writes the guides

The learning guides on this site are written and reviewed by Lachlan McRitchie, Founder, LingoBinge. We never invent personas or fake reviews. Where a guide makes a factual claim, such as a difficulty estimate, it is grounded in a cited source. Read our take on comprehensible input to see the method behind the product.

What we stand for

  • No streaks, no guilt, and no daily nags. You learn at your own pace.
  • The parts that matter most, saving and reviewing words, stay free.
  • Honest comparisons that state where other tools are genuinely good.
  • Transparent billing, with no dark patterns or surprise charges.
