Learn Arabic by watching Netflix

Arabic has one of the largest speaker populations in the world and a growing Netflix catalogue from Egypt, Jordan, and the Gulf. It is a demanding language for English speakers, and the honest complication is that the subtitle language and the spoken dialect are frequently not the same.

Modern Standard Arabic is what you will see written in subtitles, news, and books, but nobody speaks it at home. Most learners study MSA for reading and pick one dialect, commonly Egyptian or Levantine, for conversation.
How long does it take to learn Arabic?
The Foreign Service Institute places Arabic in Category IV at roughly 2,200 class hours, its hardest tier alongside Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean. The script itself is not the hard part and can be learned in a few weeks.
