Is Trancy free?

Yes, in part. Trancy has a real free tier, with a daily quota on the AI-transcription features, and a paid premium tier above it, which our earlier reading put at roughly $3.50 to $6 a month. We could not re-read their pricing page directly on 11 August 2026 to confirm, so read the current plans on trancy.org. Does Trancy work with Netflix?

Yes. Trancy is a browser extension that adds bilingual subtitles to Netflix, and it covers a good deal more besides, including YouTube and course platforms. Breadth is the point of it. Why is Trancy not working?

We have not reproduced a fault in Trancy and will not assert one. The platform-level cause we have hit ourselves is worth ruling out first: Netflix is a single-page app, so moving from Browse into an episode does not always re-inject an extension's content script, and reloading the /watch URL directly usually settles it. Because Trancy spans many sites, checking whether it also fails on YouTube tells you quickly whether this is Netflix-specific. Their own site is where to report it.
