Is Migaku free?

Only to try. When we checked migaku.com on 11 August 2026 it advertised a free trial that does not require a credit card, with a paid subscription after it, which our earlier reading put at roughly $9 to $14 a month. We could not re-verify that figure on the same date, so read the plans on their site. If you want spaced repetition you can keep using for nothing, LingoBinge includes it free, and asbplayer plus your own Anki install is the free route to the sentence-mining workflow Migaku automates.

Does Migaku work with Netflix?

Yes. Migaku's site listed Netflix among the sites it works with when we checked on 11 August 2026, alongside YouTube and the wider web. What it produces is different from what LingoBinge produces: Migaku turns the line you were watching into an Anki card, while LingoBinge changes the subtitle itself so the episode is followable at your level. If your goal is a well-built deck, that is Migaku's whole design.

Why is Migaku not working?

We have not reproduced a fault in Migaku and will not invent one. What we can offer is the platform-level failure we have hit ourselves: Netflix is a single-page app, so navigating from Browse into an episode does not reliably re-inject an extension's content script, and reloading the /watch URL directly is the first thing to try. Migaku also spans several sites, so it is worth checking whether the problem follows you to YouTube or is Netflix-only before you report it. Their own site is where to report it.

Can I move from Migaku to LingoBinge?

Your deck is the thing to check before you do anything. If you have been building cards into Anki, that collection is yours and stays in Anki whatever you decide, so the risk is lower than it looks. If your cards live somewhere else, confirm what happens to them with Migaku directly rather than taking our word for it. LingoBinge cannot import them either way, so your LingoBinge list starts empty, but it exports what you save as an Anki .apkg or CSV, so both tools can feed one collection. The honest limit is coverage.
